  • Meet state mandate to build 46,600 affordable units in the city by 2031

  • Increasing affordable housing density along transit corridors 

  • Ensure community engagement and feedback for new developments in the district

  • Advocate for senior and larger family units in design of new buildings

  • Increase funding to guide monolingual residents through city housing application process

  • Provide education workshops and assistance for local landlords and small property owners in language


Transit & Street Safety

  • Consistent parking and speed limit enforcement

  • Repaint crosswalks and curbs to improve visibility to drivers

  • Prioritize road safety and create balance amongst drivers, bikers, public transit, and pedestrians

  • Implement clearly marked pedestrian crossings with sufficient signal timing and scramble crossings at our most busiest intersections if needed

  • Traffic calming measures around schools, community centers and child care facilities

  • Prioritize our streets to suit the needs of drivers, bikers, public transit, and pedestrians


District Improvements

  • Improved lighting, sidewalk safety, and public art to beautify commercial corridors

  • Advocate for a new library in OMI

  • Invest in rec centers, parks, and libraries with activities for youth and seniors

  • Hold public hearing with PG&E on power line safety 

  • Upgrade storm drainage along flood-prone areas along Cayuga

  • Retrofit publicly-owned buildings to become energy-efficient

  • Create fund for small business owners to install security cameras
